SRINAGAR: One more civilian was injured in cross-LoC shelling in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

An official said that a lady identified as Sakeena Begum sustained splinter injury in the shelling at Nambla village in Uri sector.

She was immediately shifted to a sub-district hospital in Uri wherefrom she was referred to Baramulla for specialised treatment, said an official.

Earlier, two civilians identified as Maqbool Ah Mangral and Ahmad Sheikh sustained splinter injuries.

The firing started today afternoon and has continued since in the Uri sector. Indian troops have retaliated to firing, said an official.
