SRINAGAR: The authorities on Wednesday decided to allow only way traffic from Poonch towards Kashmir along Mughal Road till Monday.

There shall be no two-way traffic on the road and the step has been taken amid heavy congestion on the road due to the movement of nomads with their livestock, an official said.

An advisory has been issued by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rajouri Poonch, Mohammad Nawaz Chouhan, which reads that severe traffic congestion on Mughal Road is being witnessed due to seasonal migration of nomads along the road, who are moving towards upper reaches (Dhoks) for spending their summer season.

In this advisory, Deputy SP Traffic Rajouri Poonch Range, Chouhan said that subject to fair weather and good road conditions, only one-way traffic is allowed on Mughal road while keeping in view congestion on road due to nomadic migration movement, the traffic will only be allowed from Poonch to Kashmir side.

This restriction shall remain enforced till Monday while the cut off timing will remain 10 AM-02 PM—(KNO)
