Very low voter turnout has been recorded in Pulwama district up to 3 pm, Thursday, when South Kashmir is voting for Islamabad Lok Sabha seat.

A government spokesman said that only 5.01 percent voting was recorded in Pulwama district till 3 pm. In Pampore town, only two votes were polled till 4 pm in polling booth no 44.

Pulwama is followed by district Shopian where only 16.80 percent voting was recorded till 3 pm. Sources said that only 90 votes were polled in Shoipan town till 4 pm in 7 polling stations. They added that not a single vote was polled in Reban village in Wachi, assembly segment.

However, according to a government spokesman, Islamabad district recorded the highest voter turnout of 32.71 percent voting.

He added that 30.47 percent voter turnout was recorded in the district of Kulgam.

However, sources said that brisk polling was going on in the Noorabad area of Kulgam district, and Dooru and Kokernag areas of district Islamabad.
