Operations of Six Medical Shops Suspended in South Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: The Drug Control Organisation Anantnag on Monday suspended the operations of six medical shops during surprise inspections conducted across multiple locations in South Kashmir.

Officials said inspection teams carried out raids in Botengoo Anantnag, Jablipora and Arwani in Bijbehara, where several establishments were found violating mandatory provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act by failing to maintain proper records of drug sale and purchase.

The medical stores whose operations were suspended include Healthcare Medical Store Batengoo, RI Pharmacy Jablipora, War Alshifa Medical Store Arwani, Shining Medical Store Arwani, Alshifa Medical Store Arwani, and Healthcare Medical Store Arwani.

Authorities said the action forms part of an intensified enforcement drive aimed at ensuring strict compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and protecting public health.

The Drug Control Organisation further stated that similar inspections will continue across the district and warned that stringent legal action will be taken against any medical establishment found violating prescribed norms.
