Opposition National Conference and Congress legislators of both assembly and council are meeting tomorrow at 9.30 am in the chamber of Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi to chalk out strategy for taking on BJP PDP coalition government over speaker Kavinder Gupta expunging anti-national remark made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in the Legislative assembly.

Mehbooba had said that those who would want to abrogate Article 370 are anti-nationals while replying to the grants of departments under her in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Speaker Kavinder Gupta today expunged the remarks from the business of the Legislative Assembly leading to opposition NC-Congress alongwith other MLAs protesting against this decision.

The opposition has now decided to meet tomorrow at 9.30 am in the chamber of Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmed Gurezi to chalk out a unanimous strategy for taking on the PDP-BJP coalition government, said the sources. They added that they are likely to take the state government head-on over speaker ex-punging the remarks made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

“This is unprecedented. This has never happened in the history of legislature of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Congress MLA Usman Majid. He added that speaker has expunged remarks of Chief Minister who is leader of house. “How can this be tolerated? This is against the ethics of parliamentary business,” added Usman.
