Opposition members on Tuesday held a protest outside civil secretariat Jammu after Legislative Assembly was adjourned for a day.

BJP legislator from Kathua had demanded that the remarks of CM Mehbooba wherein she termed those who were against article 370 as anti-national, should be expunged terming them against the party (BJP).

Speaker of the house Kavinder Gaupta later passed directions to ex-punch the statement.

This lead to massive uproar in the house from the opposition members and subsequently house was adjourned two times once for 15 minutes and later for half an hour.

As house resumed for the third time, opposition members jumped into the well seeking the clarification. Thus the house was adjourned for the day.

Opposition held sit-in blocking the entrance to the main secretariat building.

While speaking to the reporters, senior leader of National Conference Ali Mohammad Sagar, said this is for the first time we have witnessed such un-parliamentary approach in the house as the statement of the leader of the house was expunged.

Congress leader Nawang Rigzin Jora said that, “Chief Minister should answer to this and if she stands by her remarks, it proves that Modi, BJP, Mohan Bhagwat are biggest anti-nationals.”

The members later, shouting slogans of “RSS hai hai” marched towards the main assembly complex.

NC’s Pahalgam MLA Altaf Kaloo said that those who will raise fingers against the article 370 are biggest anti-nationals. “They will have to pass from our dead bodies first,” he said.
