Opposition Monday created ruckus in the lower house og the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly during question hour with ruling party BJP’s legislator Gagan Bhagat terming Minister of State for tourism’s statement about development of an artificial lake in Jammu as “complete lie”.

Gagan who is legislator from Jammu’s RS Pora, walked out, demanding probe in the statement of the minister that “80% of the work on artificial lake in Jammu has been completed”.

“This is a complete lie,” Bhagat said and tore apart minister’s reply.

He was joined by legislators from NC and congress who alleged that Jammu is being neglected on part of tourism development.

While responding to this government spokesperson Nayeem Akhter clarified the house that the government reply is only about basic lake structure.

“Lake is a larger thing and our response was that, irrigation work has been completed 80% where as to promote it as tourist destination work is under process,” he said.

Government has stated that Rs 57.35 Crore have been already released and utilized on the project.

Legislators assembled in well and shouted slogans against government for “neglecting Jammu and misleading house.”

The legislators later held walkout from the house, shouting slogan, “Constitute a committee to probe it.”
