Opposition including some ruling party legislators Wednesday urged the government to throw open the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel in the larger interest of the people.
The tunnel will reduce the distance between Chenani and Nashri from 41 Km to 10.89 km, bypassing Kud, Patnitop and Batote.
MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori while advocating that tunnel should be opened said that this is the time to save people of Kashmir, Doda.
Shakti Parihar, BJP MLA also supported the demand.
MLA Bandipora, Usman Majeed said at least for the few days the tunnel can be opened so that people don’t suffer due to the bad weather condition.
