Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Yasin Malik and Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Thursday addressed a press conference at Nigeen residence area of Srinagar.
The press conference was held in response to the recent NIA raids and statement issued by the Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat saying that” Kashmir’s have realised that they won’t get what they want.”
Condemning the NIA charge sheets against the Hurriyat leaders Mirwaiz termed it as” baseless allegations.”
It is unfortunate that India links us with the rebel outfits. “Our struggle is completely political and peaceful,” said Mirwaiz.
Mohammad Yasin Malik briefed the media that the Army Chief himself has accepted the fact that Kashmir’s want the issue to be resolved as soon as possible. While condemning the NIA raids against pro-freedom leaders Malik said that it is not raiding its purely ‘Kidnapping.’
Malik also condemned the unending restrictions on the movement of resistance leaders including octogenarian leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
“It is totally inhuman to keep Geelani Sahab under continuous house arrest despite his old age and ailing health conditions,” Said Malik.
Chairman APHC Syed Ali Shah Geelani while addressing the Press Conference over the phone he said that the freedom movement won’t get weakened by these raids and harassment, as such tactics are not new to the freedom leaders.
The JRL urged the Central government for the implementation of United Nations Resolution 1948 as soon as possible to bring an end to this bloodshed.
Meanwhile, JRL has also called for a complete shutdown on 26th January terming the day as the black day for Kashmir.
