Kashmir’s largest socio-politico organization, Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI), Tuesday paid tributes to slain militant, Shabir Ahmad.
A delegation of JeI led by its spokesperson visited Zewan where and participated in the last rites of slain militant, a JeI statement said, “at the occasion he described the philosophy of Shahadah in the light of Islamic teachings and urged the people in general to follow the path of Islam in letter and spirit.”
“Our youth are giving numerous sacrifices for the settlement of long standing Kashmir dispute and for the supremacy of Islam, so it is our duty to safeguard these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end,” the spokesperson said on the occasion.
“He expressed anger over the brutality of government forces on mourners who were holding the body of slain militant for last rites which amounts direct interference in our religion,” the statement said.
“Forces are hell bent upon to suppress the rights of people and do not let them even to take part in Jinazah of their brothers,” he added.
