Over 100 Flights Delayed at Delhi Airport Due to ATC Glitch

   

SRINAGAR: More than a hundred flights were delayed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) following a technical fault in the air traffic control (ATC) system. Airport authorities said efforts are underway to resolve the problem and expressed regret over the disruption.

A statement from IGIA as per NDTV report, said: “Due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control system, flight operations at IGIA are experiencing delays. Our team is actively working with all stakeholders, including DIAL, to resolve it at the earliest.”

Passengers were advised to stay in contact with their airlines for the latest updates.

Air India confirmed that its cabin crew and ground staff were providing immediate assistance to minimise inconvenience. “A technical issue with the ATC system in Delhi is impacting flight operations across all airlines, leading to delays and longer wait times at the airport and onboard aircraft. We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption, which is beyond our control, and appreciate your patience,” the airline said.

The Tata-owned carrier also urged travellers to check their flight status online before travelling to the airport.
