SRINAGAR: Following a viral news report highlighting the growing drug menace in Bari Brahmana, the Samba Police launched a major crackdown, arresting over 20 drug peddlers in the area, officials said.
Acting on the directives of SSP Samba, a coordinated operation led by SDPO Bari Brahmana and SHO Bari Brahmana resulted in multiple arrests, with those involved in drug trafficking being taken into custody. Officials said special teams have been constituted to conduct searches, raids, and further arrests.
Police sources confirmed that similar anti-drug drives will continue in hotspot areas across Jammu, Samba, and Kathua to curb the menace and ensure stricter action against those involved in the illicit trade. (KNT)
