SRINAGAR: An overspeeding Tata Mobile overturned after ramming into a footpath in Srinagar’s Nigeen area late Friday night, with the driver managing to flee the scene.
Officials said that the vehicle, bearing registration number JK01AW 3952, lost control before overturning. The driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped immediately after the mishap.
Police from Nigeen station reached the spot, seized the vehicle, and shifted it to the police station. Authorities said efforts are on to trace the absconding driver, while an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident has been initiated. [KNT]
