Owaisi Tells Govt Not To Repeat Its ‘History’

Urging upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to curb the activities of Government Forces deployed in Valley, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Member Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi Wednesday said that BSF personnel responsible for innocent killings in Gool Ramban and desecration of Holy Quran should be severely punished.

“There should time bound inquiry and all the recommendations of the inquiry committee should be made public. Government should not repeat its history by shielding culprits this time,” he told new gathering agency CNS adding that it is the job of Chief Minister to press for the punishment of guilty.

Asaduddin Owaisi while condemning the killings of innocent persons in Gool town of Ramban lamented that all the inquires done so far into the killings of Kashmiri people were never made public and all these inquiries proved as mere eye-wash. “The inquiry commission constituted to probe the Gool incident should not submit its report on ‘dooms day’ but the probe should be time bound and culprits should not be shielded under any pressure,” he said.

He said Kashmir is the only part of in the country where inquiry reports are not being made to public. “We have seen in the past all the inquiry reports were thrown into dust bins and culprits were never punished. First of all probe never gets completed and if it anyway does, the report is being concealed, put into cold storage to shield culprit,” Owaisi told CNS.

“Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is the head of the State and elected one. If he could not curb Government Forces then who is going to control them? It is his job to be in command of affairs and relieve people from all the miseries and restore confidence amoung them,” he said.
