After allegations of ransacking residential houses and commercial establishments in north Kashmir areas, owner of a Kupwara hotel accused personnel of Central Reserve Police Force of having damaged his hotel building by pelting stones.

“CRPF personnel were patrolling in Bus yard area last evening. They pelted hundreds of stones on my hotel resulting in severe damage to window panes, doors and other valuables inside the hotel. Some of people present inside the hotel received injuries”, claimed Mohammad Yousuf, owner of Shahenshah Hotel here. He said that various people present inside the hotel had a narrow escape in the stone pelting “by CRPF”.

“I’ve informed the concerned police station about the matter but they have not taken cognizance of the incident till now”, he added.

However, when contacted, SHO Police Station Kupwara, told a local news agency, KNS that Police had not received information about any such incident.

Meanwhile, Inspector General CRPF,  V S Yadav said action as per rules will be taken against anyone found involved in the incident. “I have already spoken to the concerned SSP and action will be taken against whoever is found involved”, he added.
