SRINAGAR: CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Athar Aamir Khan, stated on Tuesday that the work in Srinagar is progressing rapidly, and the pace has doubled since the conclusion of the G20 event in the Valley.

During an interaction with the media, Khan, who also serves as the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), mentioned that 11 projects, including a major one, have been completed since the conclusion of the G-20 event in Srinagar. He added that work is underway at various locations in Srinagar, including downtown areas.

“The pace of work has doubled since the conclusion of the G20 event here,” he stated. Khan further mentioned that some of the projects are being handled by the Roads and Building (R&B) department, with funds allocated from the smart city initiative.

“We are no longer in a time when roads are dug up right after renovation. We are putting in every effort to ensure that the roads remain undisturbed for the next 10-20 years,” he emphasized. Khan also highlighted that the smart city involves collaboration among all departments to improve the situation on the ground. (KNO)
