In a statement issued on Monday, the Chamber expressed deep anguish over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. It also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured tourists and urged the authorities to provide them with the best possible medical care.

Calling for a fast-tracked investigation, the KCCI demanded that those responsible for the gruesome act be brought to justice without delay. The Chamber stressed that the attack appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish the Valley’s reputation and undermine the tourism sector, which has shown signs of revival in recent years.

“The Kashmiri people have always opened their hearts and homes to visitors. This act of violence runs counter to the very spirit of our culture and hospitality,” the KCCI said.

The business body reiterated its support for all measures aimed at ensuring the safety and security of tourists in the region and called on the administration to bolster protections around key tourist destinations.

The Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers Cum Dealers Union and the New Kashmir Fruit Association, Parimpora, have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, calling it a cowardly act and an assault on humanity. In a statement issued by Chairman Bashir Ahmad Basheer, the umbrella body of valley fruit associations said such violence is unacceptable and goes against the ethos of Kashmir, which has always welcomed visitors with love and warmth. Extending condolences to the families of those killed and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured, the associations called for a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of all visitors in the future.
