SRINAGAR: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will arrive in Srinagar this evening in view of the terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 civilians dead and many injured.
Eknath Shinde will depart from Mumbai for Srinagar at 7:30 pm.
“His visit underlines the Government of Maharashtra’s commitment to the safety and welfare of all tourists and pilgrims in Jammu & Kashmir,” the spokesperson said.
Twenty-six civilians, including six from Maharashtra, were killed after terrorists—believed to be four in number—attacked a group of tourists in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon.
Of the six tourists from Maharashtra, the bodies of four are expected to be flown to Mumbai and two to Pune. (KNO)
