SRINAGAR: Despite the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the administration has assured that it will have minimal impact on the upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani, and that all necessary arrangements are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious festival.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V K Bidhuri, while inspecting the arrangements at the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple in Tulmulla, Ganderbal, said that security, water supply, electricity, and other essential facilities have been fully arranged. He added that a large number of devotees are expected to participate this year as well.
Addressing concerns about security following the Pahalgam attack, the Divisional Commissioner said, “The recent attack will have the least impact on the Kheer Bhawani Yatra. We are confident that the festival will proceed peacefully, and we are expecting a good turnout of devotees, similar to previous years. We still have ample time for preparations, and the devotees will come and depart with a positive message.”
He urged devotees to visit the temple with devotion and assured them of safety and adequate security arrangements. “The administration is committed to ensuring that the festival remains a celebration of faith and unity,” he added.
The upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani at the Ragnya Devi temple in Tulmulla remains a significant religious event. (KNO)
