A middle aged lady was sent back to her home in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) after she crossed to this side of LoC in Rajouri district in Jammu region.

“On June 21, a middle-aged woman Shabana had inadvertently crossed Line of Control in Nowshera sector in Rajouri district,” Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta was quoted as having said.

Appeared to be in ‘state of shock’, the lady was provided food, clothing and medical aid.

“A woman medical officer was present throughout her stay to attend to her needs and provide solace,” Lt Col Mehta said.

After contacting their counterparts on the other side of LoC, the army personnel handed over the lady to Pakistan Authorities from Chakanda Bag Crossing Point in Poonch today.

“Keeping in view the holy month of ‘Ramzan’ and the ethos of the Indian Army, she was presented with new clothes and dry fruits before repatriation.”
