SRINAGAR: The Indian Army on Thursday said that Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) during the intervening night of April 30 and May 1 in multiple sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.
Army officials said that Pakistani posts opened small-arms fire in the Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor sectors.
“The firing was unprovoked and was responded to in a proportionate manner by Indian Army troops,” an official said.
No casualties or major damage have been reported on the Indian side so far. (JKNS)
