SRINAGAR

An army brigadier and two other Army men were injured late Friday night when Pakistani and Indian troops exchanged  fire on the Line of Control(LoC) in Tutmari Gali sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

Brigadier Sanjeev Langar and the two Army men suffered minor injuries, army sources said on Saturday. The exchange of fire took place around 7.15 p.m.

India and Pakistan were engaged in a major stand-off in January this year after India alleged that  Pakistani troops along with LeT militants intruded and  allegedly mutilated the bodies of two personnel Lance Naiks Sudhakar Singh and Hemraj, and beheaded one of them.

After the incidents, there was tension along the LoC, especially in the Krishna Ghati sector in Jammu where the incident had taken place.

The situation was de-escalated after talks between the Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan.
