On its Independence eve, Pakistan Friday said that it shall continue its “support to Kashmir”.

High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit, in an interview to ANI in Islamabad-the Pakistan national capital, has said, “Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiris till they get their due.”

Basit added, “both India and Pakistan need to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue seriously.”

“Pakistan will continue extending its full moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their legitimate struggle for self-determination,” Basit said.

India and Pakistan are scheduled to hold the NSA level talks on August 23 when Pakistan National Advisor Sartaj Aziz shall be flying to New Delhi to hold talks with his Indian counter-part Ajit Doval.

The Indian government had last year cancelled talks between the Foreign Secretaries of both countries after the Pakistani envoy hosted Kashmiri separatist leaders before the dialogue.
