A Pakistani prisoner was Friday morning attacked in Kotbalwal jail Jammu by his inmate resulting in his serious injuries. Sources told Kashmir Life that San Ullah Khan 60, son of Ashiq Hussain Khan resident of Pakistan was shifted to Jammu medical college in a critical condition.

Sources said that San Ullah Khan was attacked by inmate identified as Vinod in jail number 13 leaving the elderly Pakistani critically injured. They said that he was shifted to medical college Jammu where doctors are busy in an emergency surgery of his head.

Home Minister of India had announced high alert in all the jails where Pakistani nationals are imprisoned and directed the concerned authorities to take necessary security measures. The step was taken after Sarabjit Singh breathed his last.
Pertinently, Sarbajit Singh, an Indian National, who was on death row in Pakistani jail, was attacked by inmates a couple of days ago. Singh later succumbed resulting in fresh tension between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The tension is brewing after the hanging and burial of Afzal Guru, in Tihar jail Delhi on February 9, this year.
