Superintendent of Kotbalwal jail Jammu Rajni Sehgal has been put under suspension and an inquiry has been ordered in the incident of an attack on a Pakistani prisoner by his inmate, Vinod, a former army personnel. Sources said.

Sanullah, a Pakistani national  was critically injured Friday morning  due to an attacked in Kotbalwal jail Jammu by his inmate. Sources said that Sanaullah, was imprisoned in 1999 and in 2009 sentenced to life imprisonment for being a Pakistani militant operating in Kashmir.

The critically injured Pakistani national has been operated upon in medical college Jammu. According to hospital sources he is likely to be shifted to Chandigarh for specialized treatment.

Sources said that Sanaullah Khan was attacked by inmate identified as Vinod in jail number 13 leaving the Pakistani critically injured.

Home Minister of India had announced high alert in all the jails where Pakistani nationals are imprisoned and directed the concerned authorities to take necessary security measures. The step was taken after Sarabjit Singh breathed his last.
Pertinently, Sarbajit Singh, an Indian National, who was on death row in Pakistani jail, was attacked by inmates a couple of days ago. Singh later succumbed resulting in fresh tension between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The tension is brewing after the hanging and burial of Afzal Guru, in Tihar jail Delhi on February 9, this year.
