“Indian troops killed a Pakistani soldier who had crossed LoC in Nowshera sector to attack Indian post.” Said army on Friday. The Indian Army has conveyed to the Pakistan Army Director General of Military Operations that it is ready to return the body of the soldier.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that one Pakistani trooper had inadvertently crossed the Line of Control, LoC in Jammu and Kashmir and contact was being established with Indian authorities for his return. Pakistan army claimed that its soldier lost his way on Thursday afternoon and inadvertently crossed the LoC in Khoi Ratta sector.

Such incidents had happened on both sides in the past and were sorted out mutually, sources said. The incident occurred even as the two sides traded fresh charges of ceasefire violations along the 742-km LoC.

It is to be noted that in early January this year, two Indian soldiers were killed in a series of attacks along the line of control and one of the slain Indian soldiers was reportedly beheaded. That incident had adversely affected the ongoing peace process between the two countries.
