Tension once again gripped the volatile hamlet of Palhalan, near Pattan Saturday evening when a youth was hit by pellets during violent clashes and was shifted to SKIMS in a critical condition.
Sources said that identified as Sajad Ahmad Malla, was hit when police used pellets to disperse the protesters who were pelting stones on the men in uniform.
According to SKIMS sources Sajad was immediately operated and was stable but not out of danger as he had many injuries on his chest.
Clashes erupted in the town after angry youth raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and the men in uniform used force against them. The two sides clashed for many hours resulting tension in the area.
