Police have seized the Tata Mobile and arrested its driver on charges of ferrying two armed militants who were killed in an encounter at Sempora Pampore on Tuesday evening.

A police official told CNS that during the gun fight with militants at Sempora on Tuesday evening the driver of the Tata Mobile (JK22-5943) tried to flee from the spot, however, he was apprehended by Government Forces. The police official identified the arrested driver as Bilal Ahmed Chek son of Nazir Ahmed Chek, a resident of Chattpora Pulwama.

“During initial investigation it came to fore that Bilal runs a poultry shop in Pulwama. He is being interrogated to find out whether he is linked with militancy or not,” the police official said.
