Members of the Civil Society Pampore on Tuesday conveyed their heartiest greetings to Chairman and CEO J&K Bank Parvaiz Ahmad for laying the foundation stone of the Bank’s Knowledge Centre – ILM (Integrated Learning & Multi-Utility Centre) in Pampore.

CEO J&K Bank

The spokesman of the Civil Society said that residents of the town were extremely delighted to know (of course through media, when in fact senior members of our civil society should have been part of this grand Ceremony) about this mega Project of the Bank. We are sure that under the dynamic leadership of Parvaiz Ahmad, this cherished vision of the Bank will become reality in the immediate future and our young generation will get immensely benefitted particularly in Banking and Financial fields.

However, while we welcome and extend our good wishes to the chairman and his team for this mega project we take this opportunity to reiterate that the government Joinery Mill Pampore which was established on this land in the early fifties was a major source of livelihood to hundreds of families of Pampore town.

Now with the closure of the Joinery Mill, the family members of its workers are spending a very hard life. Therefore we make an earnest appeal to the Hon’ble Chairman that once the ILM centre comes up and becomes functional, the children of these ex-workers of the east while Joinery Mill Pampore may kindly be given some weightage and preference while filling up various posts in the institute.

Besides, we request the respected Chairman that as Corporate Social responsibility, the Bank may take up the repairs and renovation of some public parks of our town which have for the last two decades been neglected by the local administration because of turmoil and official empathy.

We once again convey our greetings and good wishes to the chairman and his team of the Bank and pray for the early completion of the project.
