On call of the Joint Resistance Leadership, a complete shutdown is being observed in the poll-bound areas of the Kashmir valley. The third phase of the Panchayat elections started on Saturday from 6: am.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in poll-bound areas of the Valley while public transport is off the roads.

In rest of the areas where polling is not being held today, life has remained mostly unaffected. Shops are open in the commercial hub of Lal Chowk and public transport is plying.

JRL has called for election boycott and shutdown in poll-bound areas in phase-III of Panchayat Polls.

Meanwhile, authorities have suspended mobile Internet speed services in poll-bound areas of the valley as a precautionary measure.
