The day-long camp was held at Baqariya Health Care and Research Centre in collaboration with Baqariya Health Care and Research Centre, Kargil, and the Health Wing of IKMT. Residents availed themselves of free consultations and expert medical advice from a team of specialist doctors from PARAS Health Srinagar.

The initiative sought to bridge healthcare gaps in geographically challenging and underserved areas by bringing quality and specialised medical services closer to local communities. Patients received consultations across a range of medical specialties, with organisers highlighting the importance of such outreach programmes in expanding access to advanced healthcare.

Residents and community members welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to the visiting medical professionals for providing specialist healthcare services at their doorstep.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Murtuza Habib, Facility Director of PARAS Health Srinagar, said the institution remains committed to ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare regardless of geographical barriers.

“Quality healthcare should not be limited by distance or location. Every individual deserves access to expert medical care, whether they live in a metropolitan city or a remote border district. Our outreach initiatives are driven by the commitment to take advanced healthcare services closer to communities that need them the most,” he said.

He added that Kargil holds a special place in the institution’s outreach efforts and reaffirmed PARAS Health’s commitment to making quality, compassionate and accessible healthcare available to all.

The camp was attended by a team of specialists, including Dr Mohd Maqbool Sohail (Interventional Cardiology), Dr Mohd Yousuf Dar (Pulmonology), Dr Adil Ashraf (Gastroenterology), Dr Raahil Rafiq (Neurosurgery), Dr Younis Mushtaq (Urology) and Dr Suheel Ur Rehman (Neuro and Vascular Interventional Radiology).

Organisers said such collaborative healthcare initiatives play a vital role in early disease detection, health awareness and strengthening healthcare access in underserved regions. They reiterated their commitment to conducting similar programmes in remote parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the future.
