“Some troublemakers tried to set it ablaze”

An unsuccessful attempt was made by some miscreants, to set on fire the shrine of Hazrat Hyder Baba Rishi (RA), here in the Dabrun village of Islamabad district.
Locals said that some of them spotted smoke coming out of the shrine when they were going for the morning prayers and were able to put an end to the fire before it could actually do any serious harm to the shrine.
“Unfortunately two copies of the Holy Quran were partially damaged in the fire, which was buried by the locals,” a local told this reporter over phone.
He said that some damage was also done to the matting of the shrine; however thankfully a major disaster was forestalled.
The district police meanwhile have lodged an FIR bearing number, 313 / 2012 under section 436 and 295 of the RPC in Police station Sadder, Islamabad.
“Further investigation is going on in the matter,” said a police spokesperson.
