Minister for Forests and Environments Mian Altaf Ahmed Wednesday informed the House that some parts of Ladakh region have been declared as wild life Sanctuary. He said, however, the inhabitants of the region are not required to seek the permission for construction of their residential houses from the wild life department.

Replying to a question by T. Namgyal, the Minister said that the reports of conflict between human and domestic/wild animals are frequently received from region, adding that to tackle these conflicts wild life stewards for watch and ward in conflict prone areas have been engaged. He said the Wild Life Department is also providing predator proof community coral pans for the safety of livestock.
