Parvez Ahmad, Executive President of the J&K Bank is likely to succeed Mushtaq Ahmad as next Chairman & CEO of the state’s only listed company, J&K Bank, informed sources said. Mushtaq is completing his extended term in the first week of next month.
Parvez is currently heading business support division and corporate credit.
Born in 1964, Parvez studied Science before completing Company Secretary course outside J&K.
He joined J&K Bank as Company Secretary in 1998. Currently, he is a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, as well.
He headed the Kashmir Central zone of the bank soon after he was elevated to the position of Deputy General Manager in 2006.
Later, he was promoted as General Manager, known as President in the bank’s new nomenclature.
For the last five years, Parvez has been an executive president of the bank.
Informed sources said that J&K government has forwarded a panel to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for mandatory approval.
