Thousand of train passengers Wednesday remained stranded at several stations across the state as the railways and the civil administration passed the buck to each other for the snow clearance of the track.
The KNS correspondent informed that the tussle between the district administration Kulgam and railway authorities over the clearance of snow from the railway track in the area emerged and both were seen passing the buck for the duty of snow clearance of the track that resulted in the massive halt in the train movement .
The reports added that people at several stations including Budgam, Qazigund, and Banihal were aghast over the inordinate halt of the trains.
However, Station Mange, Railways Zubair Majid when contacted stated that due to the bad weather conditions prevailing in the state since last two days, the railway track at several areas was affected. Acknowledging that the halt caused inconvenience to the masses, Zubair said that the rail travel will be restored by Thursday.
