Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday was informed that a Pakistani wife of Kashmir youth is facing severe problems as her passport has been seized.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the on-going Budget Session, ruling PDP’s Wachi Lawmaker, Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Mir, said a lady from Rawalpindi Pakistan who has married a Kashmiri youth had come to Kashmir. “But her passport was seized in Nepal only,” he said.

The lady, identified as Iram Sayar, was coming to Kashmir with a Shopian youth, identified as Sayar Ahmad, who returned home under rehabilitation policy. He had crossed over to other Kashmir in 1990s. The duo live at Nadigam Shopian

“Today, her father is on death bed; she is unable to go back to her Rawalpindi home,” Aijaz said asking government to take action of emergency basis. “Let us help her to meet her father who is severely sick.”
