A complete shutdown is being observed in Srinagar and all the district and Tehsil headquarters of Kashmir valley on Friday against the army verdict about Pathribal case.

The shutdown call has been given by Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

Army last week closed the Pathribal case against its five people who were earlier found guilty by CBI in killing five civilians during a ‘fake encounter’ in 2000 in Pathribal, a south Kashmir village.

Shops and business establishments are closed while as traffic is plying very thinly.

Authorities on late Thursday house arrested many separatist leaders including Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan of Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir.

Sources said that many Hurriyat (M) leaders have also been either detained in their houses or arrested “as a precautionary measure”

They added that Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is in New Delhi since last two weeks.
