Police have arrested at least 13 persons in connection with the attack that was carried out by suspected militants on the son of a landlord who had rented out his compound for the installation of a mobile tower in Armmohalla Pattan in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Imtiyaz Ahmed Sofi son of Ali Muhammad, a resident of Armmohalla Pattan was injured after suspected militants barged into his house on May 26, and fired volley of bullets upon him.

From past one week, counter insurgency Special Operations Group and police have arrested at least 13 persons from different localities of Pattan town. Dy SP Operations Pattan and Tangmarg, Amir Iqbal told CNS that police do not want to trouble any innocent.

“We have arrested some people but released some of them after we felt they were innocent. Only the culprits will feel the heat and no innocent will be harassed or apprehended,” he said adding that investigation is going on and hopefully the suspected militants behind the attack will be zeroed in and arrested.
