Police registered a murder case with regard to Pattan Killings on Tuesday.\

Pertinently, three youth were found dead in an orchard on Monday in Dangarpora area of North Kashmir’s Pattan town in Baramulla district. The killings sparked violent protests and shutdown in the town and adjoining places. Police had identified two as militants.

A police official told CNS that an FIR vide number 165/2015 under section 302 RPC, 7/25 Arms Act has been registered in police station Pattan and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the facts.

Meanwhile, Pattan town observed a complete shutdown against the killing of trio while clashes between protesters and police erupted at many places resulting in the injuries of many protesters and cops.

Reports said that all the shops and business establishments remained closed in Pattan, Palhalan and its adjacent areas including Gohiwa, Wusun, Nehalpora, Dangarpora and Lolipora. Police bursted tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting youth who were hurling stones on government forces and had blocked the road at Hyderbeigh Pattan.

Police arrested three youths from Yedipora for their alleged involvement in Stone-Pelting.

A police constable Ajaz Ahmed was seriously wounded when he was hit by a stone near Pandav Park Pattan where large number of protesters resorted to stone-pelting.

A police official said that barring few incidents of stone-pelting, the situation remained peaceful in Pattan town.
