KL Report

Srinagar

Expressing concern at the mysterious death of two Kashmiri boys in quite succession outside the state, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party Monday said reasons for their death should be made public after a transparent investigation.

Party Chief Spokesperson Naeem Akhtar said while the party expresses solidarity with the bereaved families and condolences to them, the incidents cannot be brushed aside without fuelling public apprehensions and anger which have been on display since yesterday.

He said that the senior party leader Qazi Mohammad Afzal Monday visited the family of Aadil Ahmad Ganai at Larsun Ganderbal to convey his condolences to them.

He also conveyed the solidarity of the party to the bereaved family and deep sympathies from the party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, party president Mehbooba Mufti and senior party leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig.

Akhtar said the state government must pursue all these cases with the concerned state governments and see to it that a thorough investigation is made and the families taken on board. Akhtar, according to KNS, said even though the state government had announced taking up the matter with the concerned states, it seems there is little progress in investigation according to the reports received by the families.

The party called for immediate transportation, preferably by air, of Aadil’s body as till last reports it had not been flown into Srinagar.
