SRINAGAR: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) party on Thursday held a meeting at its headquarters in Srinagar, where Party President Mehbooba Mufti announced key appointments aimed at strengthening the party’s communications and legislative wing.
A statement issued by party reads that Dr Mehboob Beg was appointed as the Chief Spokesperson of the PDP. “With extensive experience as a parliamentarian and legislator, Dr Beg will play a vital role in conveying the party’s vision and advocating for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
MLA Pulwama, Waheed ur Rehman Para, was appointed Leader of the Legislative Party. Rafiq Ahmed Naik, MLA Tral was named Deputy Leader, and MLA Kupwara, Mir Mohammad Fayaz, will serve as the Chief Whip, ensuring unity within the party’s legislative team.
“The meeting also addressed the challenges facing the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly high unemployment and issues related to reservation policies. The PDP leadership called for a more balanced reservation system to offer better opportunities for young people to secure meaningful careers. Mufti reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting the younger generation and working towards a brighter future for all,” the statement reads.
