PDP Moves Privilege Motion Against Allegations Of TA, DA Withdrawal

KL Report

Refuting allegations of drawing TA, DA for the boycotted period of the just concluded budget session of the legislative assembly, Opposition party PDP has moved a privilege motion on Thursday in assembly and urged speaker to verify the facts.

“ A news item has appeared in a section of press today on April 18, 2013 regarding disbursement of TA &DA to the members of opposition party i.e. PDP which is attributed to Honbl’e Chief Minster. Since nothing has been drawn, received by the members of the said party, hence, the statement is totally incorrect and misleading which affects the credibility of the members and as such amounts to breach of privilege.” reads the motion moved by Senior PDP leader and MLA Sangrama Syed Basharat Bukharai, a copy of which lies with KNS.

Bukhari has urged Speaker of the assembly Mubarak Gul to personally verify the facts and initiate action under rules.

“Since your honbl’e self is the guardian of the members of the assembly, the matter is brought to your notice. Please be kind enough to look into the mater viz. the authenticity of the statement and the facts available with your office in this regard and initiate proper action under rules.” Adds the letter.

Meanwhile Bukhari expressed his deep anguish over the statement and said that none of the PDP members have even drawn the TA, and DA of the days they (PDP) attended the session.

“I was deeply hurt after getting so many calls from valley this morning regarding the news. After all it is related to our credibility and needs to be taken seriously.” Bukhari told KNS over phone from Jammu on Thursday evening. He added that the statement whosoever has made it has disturbed him personally which prompted him to move the motion so that facts are placed before the public. “We have attended 13 or 14 days of the session and TA and DA for those days are due to us, but even that has not been drawn as yet. So I requested Speaker to initiate action if he was convinced like me that the allegations are untrue.” PDP leader added.
