Condemning the ‘attack’ on the senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and religious personality, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari on Saturday in Khanda, the party Tuesday reiterated its demand for a speedy probe into the incident.
In a statement, the party president, Mehbooba Mufti said Molvi Imran is not only a leader of a premier political party of the state but is also a respectable religious personality and successor to the highly revered late Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari. She said the attack on him has outraged everybody in the state especially his followers.
Mehbooba said she had already spoken to the Director General of Police in this regard and urged him to hold a transparent and time bound probe into the attack on the PDP leader. She said strong action should be taken against those who are found responsible for it.
