Srinagar: National Conference on Friday filed a complaint against brazen continued violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by the Local Administration at the behest of PDP leaders and asked the Election Commission to take immediate cognizance and action.

National Conference Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani filed the complaint with the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) on behalf of the Party and highlighted how the State Government, through various channels, was continuing with the unfair and compromised process of recruiting workers and activists of the ruling dispensation as SPOs in Pulwama District and Kangan Assembly Segment – in clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct. “Some of these illegal recruitments are being carried out through back-dated orders and we request the Election Commission to take immediate cognizance and action as per law”, the NC Provincial President said.

\Nasir Aslam WaniThe NC Provincial President said the Election Commission needs to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is upheld in letter and spirit to ensure free and fair conduct of elections in the State without the misuse and abuse of official funds and machinery.
