Unknown gunmen shot at and injured a worker of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Khanpora area of Baramulla district in northern part of Kashmir late Tuesday night.
Reports said that the PDP worker Abdul Rashid Lone was returning home after offering late night prayers in a mosque when gunmen opened fire on him.
A relative of Lone was also injured in the firing incident, they said.
Both the injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Following the attack, police and army raided several nearby localities and arrested three persons.
