Opposition Peoples Democratic Party issued third list of candidates for the assembly elections. The list was finalised at a meeting of party’s Political Affairs Committee held here under the chairmanship of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Apart from party president Mehbooba Mufti senior leaders Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Maulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Tariq Hameed Karra, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Naeem Akhtar, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and Haseeb Drabu attended the meeting.
Here is the list of 10 candidates:
Islamabad – Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
Rajpora – Haseeb Ahmed Drabu
Pulwama – M Khalil Bandh
Shopian – Advocate Mohammad Yousuf Bhat
Karnah – Advocate Raja Manzoor
Gulmarg – Mohammad Abbas Wani
Surankot – Mohammad Iqbal Kazmi
Doda – Shihabul Haq
Kishtwar – Firdous Tak
Mendhar – Advocate M Maroof Khan
Sopore- Nazir Ahmad Naikoo
The party has already announced two lists of 49 candidates. By the announcement of 11 more, the party has announced 60 candidates for 87 seat assembly. The elections are scheduled later this year.
By dropping senior party leader and sitting MLA Rajpora constituency Syed Bashir Ahmad sahab, PDP has made a big mistake. In their first list they selected him and now they back stabbed him. It’s because of Bashir sahab PDP won two times there. Now most of the angry PDP workers are going to vote for NC only. Bashir sahab has given his blood for the development of this constituency. Now it will be very interesting to see his reaction.
