Peoples Democratic Party’s MLC and Waqaf Board Member J&K, Firdous Tak Thursday emphasised on the educational institutions to adopt new methods of teaching so as to prepare the students to face competitions at global level.

In his address after presiding over the annual day function of prestigious Islamia Faridia High School Kishtwar, being run by Auqaf Islamia, the PDP legislator said, “the modern education with emphasis on personality development and confidence building was need of the hour.”

Tak emphasized upon the quality education along with quality infrastructure in the institution which today celebrated 110th annual day.

He said the educational institutions while imparting quality education in Science and Technology should give full attention in inculcating moral values in the students.

“Educational institutions like Islamia Faridia High School must concentrate over the quality and better performance of the pupil as well as the teacher which he called a need of present day,” he said.

“Auqaf administration Kishtwar remains the recruitment agency since last two decades which in turn created economic crunch for management and my only concern is to streamline the policies regarding recruitment and other expenditures posed by the concerned department,” he maintained.

Appealing people of Kishtwar to come forward and strength the walls of institution, Tak said, “such institutions are not of the people but for the people and growth can come only when they are being allowed to groom by ensuring economic stability and freedom.”

Tak expressed that “present day is the age of science and technology, higher studies in the educational institutions should be at par with the modern trends in this field to groom and nurture students as per global requirement.”

He emphasized on consolidation in quality education network in the state to make this institution seat of excellence and centre of knowledge.

He also expressed confidence that the Islamia Faridia School would further flourish and expand its educational activities to enable more students to get benefit from the Institution.

“Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Syed and Auqaf Minister A R Veeri were very particular to streamline the existing system in Wakf and develop economically viable institutions in Kishtwar. Mufti Sahab had in his earlier tenure as CM gifted Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Islamic University to state and now the Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar was in focus,” he said adding that government has already set in motion the process to establish nursing college in Kishtwar which will benefit the entire Chenab Valley.

He regretted that instead of progressive growth the Auqaf Islamia Kishtwar has been “used for political purposes”. “I am surprised to see that the income of Auqaf has decreased over the last few years while the expenditure has seen steep rise,” he said adding that the government will hold a complete audit so as to ascertain facts and a white paper will be presented before general public.
