Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 2.5Kgs of Charas from his possession, last evening, a police statement said on Wednesday.
“On a tip off, a Police party of Police station Shergari, Srinagar led by SHO Sargun Shukla arrested a notorious drug peddler Mohammad Maqbool Khan son of Lal-Din Khan resident of Magarmal Bagh while selling Charas stuffed cigarettes among the student at Magarmal Bagh,” police said.
The drug peddler was taken into custody and on his search 2.5Kgs of Charas was recovered from his possession.
Police has launched a manhunt to nab his other associates including a lady involved in the drugs trade.
A case FIR no. 47/2014 under section 8/20 NDPS act was registered against him and investigation has been taken up.
