SRINAGAR: A 36-year-old pedestrian was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Fisheries area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district late Saturday night.
Officials said the deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Kalas, son of Mohd Shareef Kalas, a resident of Shalnard, Lisser, Kokernag.
According to officials, Tariq was struck by an unknown vehicle and sustained critical injuries. He was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and launched a manhunt to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. (GNS)
