District Election Officer Shopian on Saturday asked the general public to register their objections, if any, regarding the draft proposal of delimitation of Panchayat Halqas by February 23, 2017.
The DEO said that in view of the forthcoming Panchayat Elections-2017, a chart of Pre-Election activity with timeline for delimitation has been framed by Chief Electoral Officer, according to which draft proposal of delimitation has been affixed in the headquarter of existing Panchayat Halqa, BDO office and DPO Office on February 16, 2017 for information and inviting objections.
Accordingly, he said that a committee has been constituted to examine the objections, if any, filed by the general public with the District Panchayat Officer. The members of the committee are District Panchayat Election Officer Shopian (Chairman), District Panchayat Officer Shopian (Member Secretary), BDO Chitragam/lmamsahab (Member), BDO Herman/Zainapora/Kanjiullar (Member), BDO Kaprin (Member), BDO Keller (Member), BDO Ramnagri/Shopian (Member).
